Organisations/Projects Selected for 2018

Disbursement Process:
  1. Approved Organisations/Projects are invited to apply for funding.
  2. Disbursement of StreetSmart funding happens annually.
  3. Funded Organisations/Projects are required to give a detailed report on expenditure.

Cape Town StreetSmart funds will go towards:

  • Cape Town Multi Service Centre: R90,000.00 two aftercare teachers’ salaries, family reconstruction worker salary, and transport costs towards family reconstruction activities.
  • Home from Home: Masiphumulele, Ocean View and Westlake: R90,000 towards their tutoring programme for Metro South.
  • Learn to Live: R90,000.00 towards panel beating workshop and home maintenance skills training instructor salary.
  • Ons Plek: R90,000.00 towards a social worker salary.
  • T.L.C. R90,000.00 towards family reconstruction worker and field worker salaries, and related transport costs.
  • School of Hope – Thembalitsha Foundation: R90,000 towards computer skills training instructor salary.

Franschhoek StreetSmart funds will go towards:

  • The Kusasa Project: R150,000 towards the auxiliary social worker and ad hoc social worker salaries.  

Helderberg StreetSmart funds will go towards:

  • ACVV Bright Lights: R60,000 towards a social worker salary and related transport costs.

Stellenbosch StreetSmart funds will go towards:

  • Home from Home: Kayamandi (5) & Cloetesville (2): R80,000 towards a social worker salary.
  • Stellumthombo – Becoming Kids: R20,000 towards a learning support facilitator salary.

Swellendam StreetSmart funds will go towards:

  • The Bursary Fund:   R20,000.00 towards further education of 5 students.

Johannesburg StreetSmart funds will go towards:

  • Kids Haven: R30,000 towards the salary of the Bridging School facilitator.

George StreetSmart funds will go towards:

  • Kidstop: R20,000 towards a child and youth care worker salary.

Knysna StreetSmart funds will go towards:

  • Sinethemba Projects: R90,000 towards a family reconstruction worker salary and services.

Oudtshoorn StreetSmart funds will go towards:

  • St Francis Drop-in: R25,000 towards the drop-in children’s activity programmes .

Pretoria StreetSmart funds will go towards:

  • PEN Streetwise Project: R15,000 towards a social worker salary.

Plettenberg Bay StreetSmart funds will go towards:

  • Masizame Projects: R50,000 towards a family reunification worker salary.
  • Home from Home PLETT Projects: R20,000 towards social worker supervision.

Feedback on how these funds were administered will be given by each organisation in 
Report format by 30 November 2018.
